This is the best ring cake, I have ever eaten. Sorry for such a hopeless picture, I made the ring cake a few minutes bofore the party, the guests ate it warm 🙂
In a pan malt the butter, sugar,water and cocoa until smooth, then let to cool slightly.In a sererate bowl beat the egg yolk and pour into the butter mixture. Add the flour and baking powder, vanilla extract.Mix ,using the mixer until the mixture thoroughly combine. Whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form,add into cocoa mixture and stir very gently. Drop the mixture into a greased tin and bake at 180C for 50-60 minutes or until a cake tester withdraws clean. Stand cake in tin for 5 minutes before turning out into a wire rack over a tray to cool completely.
Make the icing and pour over the cake, or pour over the cake with melted chocolade.
